“The World” is the most recent finish in the Nostalgic Tarot card embroidery series. This is the fourth finish with a ba-zillion to go. This one was super fun and cute though I had to make some tough edits to it as well. The designer had her set up as the earth wearing a halloween costume complete with treat bucket. It’s crazy cute and I loved it, but it just didn’t quite balance I like wanted it to. I took out the Halloween specific items and stuck to a full space theme repeating a few of her stars. I also took out the extra pixels so that I can add crystals later as I’ve done with all the ones before.

This one did have a lot of pixels in a lot of different colors in the middle so setting the order to be sure it finished square was no joke! I ended up with about 85 total thread changes which is about 83 more than I wanted! None the less, it came out super cute so I guess totally worth it!

This is a catch up post......

This project was well under way when I moved to using a website over social media. To catch up….

The series is a set of “Nostalgic Tarot Cards” which is a set of cross stitch patterns designed by Etsy seller “The Witchy Stitcher”. Cross stitching, while something I love, is not so easy on these old eyes. I tried digitizing one of the patterns for machine embroidery and it came out well enough to keep on trying with others. I may or may not do all 22. For now, I work on them when I can (or more apt, when I feel like it) and we’ll see where it goes. While the idea of machine embroidery may seem like a shortcut, it isn’t. It takes about 3 hours to digitize them. Well, maybe not anymore as I’ve collected up a few templates that make it go faster. But it’s not fast.

Then there is the actual stitch out with roughly 90K stitches. Add thread changes, breaks and normal machine embroidery chaos it is about a six hour stitch out.

I will not be sharing these embroidery files as it is not my pattern to share. While I did all the digitizing and doing, the artwork belongs wholly to the witchy stitcher.

Here’s the four that are done…….
