Ready for a Personal Pet Photo Session? Let's do this!

At this time, it is a make it work space! I set up in the garage at my home in Raleigh, NC based on the size and number of dogs you're bringing. I do use flash which can be a little intimidating for some dogs. We'll spend some time setting off the flashes while your dog is at rest to gage how they respond. After several test fires, we'll give them a chance in the light.  

We'll try working with your dog with sits and treat throws. Perhaps using a few props, a chair or table, or engaging with a toy. If it's just not grabbing your pup's attention, we'll try some other strategies which may include a little play time. We may use you and a slip lead to help keep us focused and in the light. We continue work with trial and error, patience, and most importantly everyone having HAVING FUN.  

This is an "it depends" questions for sure! 

Yes, of course they can - if they are willing. A multiple dog photo can sometimes be a unicorn and quite difficult to catch. We can ALWAYS try by applying the same techniques as working with one dog and see what we get. 

In a lot of cases, they can be post-processed and merged into a single image. 

Most dogs don't sit still! They are visiting a new place with LOTS of interesting smells. Part of the experience is giving your dog time to adjust to the space, get comfortable with me, and decide it is a fun experience. There's no guarantee that dogs won't be dogs! It's my job to pay attention to when they give me the best faces and interactions and continue to push on those until we hit the right vibe for your dog. It can be helpful to bring their favorite treats, beds, or toys that will help engage them. 

Some dogs take longer than others, but we almost always find their currency and happy place. 

Let's face it, this studio business can be really scary for your dog. It's new, its bright, there's a big black camera eye looking at them, and all the humans are focused on them. Some dogs get right in there and ham it up, most take time and a ton of tries, others decide they are simply not ok with the arrangement. 

I have infinite patience with dogs and have worked with some up to three hours or more or over a couple days. I'm happy to work without dog as long as it takes.

That said, the most important thing is your dog. Their comfort and willingness to participate is essential. If we find ourselves in a space that your dog isn't showing signs of gradual comfort increases, we'll call it and let them off the hook.
